Sangiao confident in Loman ahead of clash against Lineker

High hopes envelop Team Lakay stable in Baguio as Stephen Loman takes on former ONE Bantamweight Word Champion John Lineker – a two-year delay from their originally scheduled match up.

The two top contenders of the weight class will lock horns at ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham on September 30 for the top spot in the division.

For veteran coach and stable founder Mark Sangiao, Stephen is in perfect condition to face off against Lineker.

“We always say that anything can happen in MMA and you cannot just train in one area. Whatever direction the fight will go, we will be ready – whether it be a striking battle or ground tussle,” shared Sangiao.

“We have been working a lot.”

Loman and Lineker was originally set to meet inside the Circle in 2021 but the fight was cancelled after the Filipino fighter tested positive for COVID-19.

Now, the much-anticipated face off will finally happen and the stakes are high for the Sniper.

Reigning division kingpin Fabricio Andrade already called out to Loman for a possible clash for the golden plated strap and a win against Lineker will surely boost his chances at the belt.

“Our goal is the belt. Our goal is to bring home another belt here in the Philippines,” added Coach Mark.
