Former UST Growling Tigers Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso, and Ira Bataller complete their transfer to reigning NCAA champion Letran Knights.

Rappler Sports first reported that the three will soon join the Knights under head coach Bonnie Tan.

The three left the Tigers after former team captain CJ Cansino was kicked out of the team amid alleged training bubble in Sorsogon. Cansino later on shared screenshots of their group chat on Twitter, noting their poor living conditions.

Abando, who averaged 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks, will still have three years to play after one year of serving residency. Bataller, who also proved to be one of UST’s key players with an average of 1.88 points and 2.88 rebounds, also have three years to play. Paraiso, on the other hand, have one left.

Along with these three, and Cansino’s transfer to University of the Philippines, incoming sophomore Jun Asuncion also transferred to Mapua University.

Aldin Ayo had since formally submitted his resignation as head coach of the Growling Tigers, along with his assistant coaches McJour Luib and Jinino Manansala.

There have been reports that Adamson University is looking at acquiring guards Mark Nonoy and Deo Cuajao after Phenom Sports Management head Jax Chua met with Adamson coach Franz Pumaren.

Soulemane Chabi Yo, the UAAP Season 82 MVP, decided to stay at UST for his last playing year next season. Sherwin Conception who proved his worth as one of UST’s best three-pointers is staying, along with Dave Ando.
