Adiwang blasts ‘Papua Badboy’ in 23 seconds in ONE return

By Jun Ray Navarres

Filipino slugger Lito Adiwang returned to ONE Championship with a bang after stopping Adrian Mattheis in just 23 seconds of ring action at the curtain raiser of ONE Friday Fights 34.

The legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium was stunned to see Adiwang land a clean right to the chin of the Papua Badboy, dropping the latter to his knees.

The aggressive Adiwang was relentless, connecting with another right and followed by a barrage of punches to force the referee to stop the fight.

Adiwang showed no signs of rust even after an 18-month hiatus from the sport due to an injury attained last March 2022 in his fight against compatriot Jeremy Miado.

In an earlier interview, Adiwang was confident in his capabilities as a striker and his move to Bali, Indonesia further solidified his potential as a fighter.

This proved to be beneficial for the Thunder Kid as he improved to 14-5 while dropping Mattheis to 11-7.
