Guiao expects hard, physical game against Kazakhstan

29 November 2018

Team Pilipinas head coach Yeng Guiao expects a hard, physical game as Gilas faces Kazakhstan tonight in the fifth window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at Mall of Asia Arena.

“We don’t want to burn out the guys, we wanted them to be fully rested for tomorrow. It’s going to be a hard, physical game so we’re ready for that,” he told the reporters after the practice session.

Despite Team Philippines big win against Kazakhstan in the 2018 Asian Games, Guiao added “With what happened in the Asian Games, I’m sure they’ll make adjustments so we can’t totally rely on what we did in the Asian Games. I’m sure they’re going to do something different, so we’re just putting in some more options just in case they try to defer from their original game plan.”
