Pirates drub Blazers to extend unbeaten run to 7 games

Manila, Philippines – Lyceum of the Philippines University remains unbeaten in seven games after blasting the College of St. Benilde, 77-65, Tuesday in the NCAA Season 94 senior’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

Most Valuable Player CJ Perez spearheaded the Pirates for a much needed boost coming into the third quarter.

As the Blazers managed to overcome Lyceum in the second half, 43-39, Perez shot two triples that sparked a 13-0 run from the Pirates.

Lyceum led by as much as 13 points in the fourth quarter, 75-62, en route to their seventh consecutive win in the league.

Perez finished with a game-high double-double record of 22 points and 12 rebounds, along with five steals. Mike Nzeusseu chipped in another double-double 16 markers and 10 boards.

JC Marcelino added 14 points as the Pirates stay on the winning column of the tournament.

On the other hand, Justin Gutang and Edward Dixon’s 13 points each was put to waste as St. Benilde dropped to a 2-4 win-loss record in the tournament.
