UAAP KICKS OFF 79TH SEASON #UAAP79 #DaretoDream

“Let us all dare to dream, and let the games begin,” University of Santo Tomas (UST) Rector Rev. Fr. Herminio Dagohoy, OP said as he enlightened the crowd during the ‘Dare to Dream’ opening ceremonies of UAAP Season 79.
The Tigers opened their lair in welcoming hundreds of students from different universities in celebration of the opening of the 79th season of the UAAP.
The host for this season, University of Santo Tomas (UST), did not disappoint UAAP fans as they successfully presented a heartwarming opening celebration on Saturday at the Plaza Mayor, UST.
An Olympics-inspired opening ceremony mixed well with the Thomasian tradition and brought an overwhelming feeling of unity and sportsmanship among athletes, students and the whole UAAP community.
The athletes from each university were welcomed like a Thomasian as they entered the iconic Arch of the Century. The jam-packed crowd cheered for their respective schools and was accompanied by the UST Drumline and UST Yellow Jackets.
UST showed off their dreamy luxurious fireworks display hovering over the main building that illuminated across the black sky.
The fireworks display became the highlight of the evening. It was accompanied by hit songs ‘Middle’ by DJ Snake and Coldplay’s ‘A Sky Full of Stars’ which sent a tingling sensation in everyone’s hearts.
The night festivities was capped off with a concert.
