The De La Salle University Lady Spikers closed in on another Final Four appearance with a twice-to-beat advantage after a three-set sweep of the University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-17, 25-16, 25-19, in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament, Wednesday at the FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan.

La Salle was dominant from the get-go until the last point, keeping the Lady Warriors below the twenty-point mark in all the frames.

The Lady Spikers overpowered in all the scoring departments, especially in the offense where the defending champions tallied 45 attacks in just three sets for an average of 15 in each set.

It was La Salle’s tenth win this season as they boosted their chances of acquiring another advantage heading into the semi-finals.

Rookie Jolinadela Cruz and AdukeOgunsaya scored 10 points for the Lady Spikers, while Tin Tiamzon and Desiree Cheng had 9 and 8 markers, respectively. Another rookie YnnaHatulan also delivered for Coach Ramil with two points that sealed the victory.

Judith Abil led UE with 16 points as her diagonal Mean Mendrez was feeling under the weather and had to sit out in this game.
