The De La Salle University Lady Spikers returned the favor to the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons with a straight set win of their own, 27-25, 25-11, 25-17, closing in on a slot in the Final Four, March 19, Sunday at the FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan.

Coming into the game, La Salle had an 8-2 win-loss record. One of their two losses was from UP when they swept the Lady Spikers in straight sets in the first round, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19.

A determined La Salle squad came out strong in the first set with a 10-4 lead. UP just kept the match close as Isa Molde came alive to steal the set at 19-18. The Lady Maroons and Lady Spikers then exchanged attacks to extend the set, but La Salle was able to save two set points to claim the set in their pockets.

The momentum stayed with La Salle as UP did not have any answer to the offense and defense of the Lady Spikers in the next two sets.

Majoy Baron led La Salle with 16 points, with Desiree Cheng, Tin Tiamzon and Kim Dy all with 11 points each.

Sophomores Isa Molde and Tots Carlos registered 12 and 11 points respectively.

Player of the Game: Majoy Baron, 16 points (7 attacks, 3 blocks, 6 service aces)
