After a slow start in its UAAP season 79 campaign, the UST Lady Tigresses seemed to have found its groove, defeating the also-contender FEU Lady Tamaraws, 25-16, 21-25, 26-24, 25-20, to strengthen its final four bid, Saturday, March 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Lady Tigresses ended the streak of the Lady Tamaraws to force a tie for third spot.

Coach Kung Fu was looking for the right combination of his first six, having plenty of substitutions all throughout the match.

Fortunately, subbing out then fielding in again Sisi Rondina, executing his usual two-man substitution plan with his setters Alina Bicar and Alex Cabanos alongside lefties Caitlyn Viray and Dimdim Pacres, worked as UST had an unpredictable offense, registering 53 attacks.

The tandem of Rondina and EJ Laure combined for 31 points, with Dimdim Pacres and Riri Meneses contributing 12 and 7 markers respectively.

Coming off a 24-point performance against UP, Bernadette Pons was held down to 14 points. Chin Basas top scored for FEU with 16 markers.

Player of the Game: Dimdim Pacres, 12 points (9 attacks, 3 service aces)
