The UE Red Warriors’ bid to get to this year’s UAAP Final Four stays alive after destroying the FEU Tamaraws 94-71.

The Warriors led mostly throughout the game but the Tamaraws just keep on fighting back with runs of their own.

The game started to pull away in favor of UE in the final quarter when Roi Sumang started to hit his shots after sitting in the bench majority of the game. Sumang started the massacre for the boys in red and he was backed up by big man Charles Mammie and Bong Galanza.

Despite getting a couple of scoring runs to stay in the game, the Tamaraws kept on struggling for most of the game turning the ball over 33 times. That’s 2 more compared to their first round matchup where they turned the ball over 31 times.

UE was led by team captain Bong Galanza who scored a career-high 26 points. Charles Mammie was on beast mode with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Roi Sumang also contributed with 9 points.

Tamaraws captain Mac Belo, on the other hand, had 16 points & 8 rebounds. Achie Iñigo and Mike Tolomia also had 10 and 9 points respectively.

This is UE’s first victory over the Tamaraws since UAAP 72 dated last September 24, 2009 where the Red Warriors won 78-72.
