San Beda overcomes San Sebastian to keep perfect slate

Manila, Philippines – San Beda University whips San Sebastian College-Recoletos and claimed a 65-54 win on Thursday in the NCAA Season 94 senior’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The defending champions continue its winning streak and perfect slate, 6-0, as they inch closer with Lyceum of the Philippines University, who has a 7-0 win-loss record.

Javee Mocon and rookie James Canlas erupted in the fourth quarter for a much needed push as they made 10 points each to put the Red Lions in advantage.

The time ran out as Baste ended the first round of the tournament with a 3-6 slate.

Mocon led San Beda with a double-double record of 16 points and 11 rebounds on top of four assists off the bench, while Canlas had 12 points and a steal.

Donald Tankoua chipped in another 12 points for their sixth consecutive win.

On the other hand, Allyn Bulanadi had 20 points, while Michael Calisaan added 15 points in the losing effort.
