Manila, Philippines – Defending champions San Beda University just kept winning their games and their latest victim? Emilio Aguinaldo College.

San Beda whipped EAC, 76-57, Thursday in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan. This has been the 20th time the Red Lions defeated the Generals since the start of the tournament.

It was a slow start for the Red Lions, who trailed 0-9 in the first quarter. Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon boosted their team up and placed them in advantage by the end of the quarter, 23-17.

The Generals kept their pace with Hamadou Laminou leading the squad and came close to two, 36-38.

San Beda came back from the dugout with a renewed energy as it showed in the second half of the game.

They showed full defensive play that prevented the Generals from making any attempts at making a basket. EAC was limited to 6-of-24 shooting and was forced to a number of turnovers that became San Beda points.

Bolick and Mocon combined for back-to-back baskets that saw the extension of their lead in the game to a double-digit record until they sealed the win.

Bolick paved the way for the Red Lions with a 20-point 10-rebound double-double, while Mocon added 11 markers and seven boards for the win.

On the other hand, Laminou had 15 points and 10 rebounds and JP Maguliano added 12 markers and nine boards as EAC dropped to a 2-10 slate.
