Prince Eze’s tip-in lifts Perpetual past San Sebastian at home

Manila, Philippines – With only 0.5 seconds left on the clock, Prince Eze showed tenacity under much pressure and tipped in the crucial basket that sealed their win and defeated San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 78-76, Thursday in the NCAA Season 94 senior’s basketball tournament at the home court of University of Perpetual Help in Las Pinas.

Baste came streaking in the first half of the game and led by as much as 19 points at the half, 46-27.

Altas came back to the third quarter after a much-need break and managed to pull off a 24-11 run in the start of the second half cutting the deficit to six, 51-57.

It was a tight match in the fourth salvo as Arjan Dela Cruz shot a booming triple that tied the game at 76-all, leaving only 3.3 seconds on the clock.

Baste tried to toughen up their defense to stop Altas from scoring another point, but AJ Coronel found Eze on the corner and though two defenders were in front of him, Eze tipped in the game-winning shot that sealed their second consecutive win.

Eze scored a double-double record of 22 points and 18 rebounds on top of six blocks.

Edgar Charcos added 18 markers, five boards, three steals and two assists as Perpetual stepped up the ladder with a 3-2 win-loss record.

Meanwhile, Allyn Bulanadi’s 21 points and 12 boards were put to waste as Baste dropped to a 3-5 record.
