Manila, Philippines – There is no stopping University of Perpetual Help race into the winning column of the NCAA Season 94 senior’s basketball tournament, not even the crowd of Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Perpetual escaped the Generals, 76-74, as they visited its home court in San Marcelino, Manila on Thursday to climb up the team standings with a 2-1 win-loss record.

Meanwhile, EAC continues its woes as they remain winless in three games in the tournament.

With the game tied at 64-all in the fourth salvo, Prince Eze’s easy baskets boosted the Altas team for a 11-5 run, 75-69, with only less than a minute left in the game.

EAC’s Jeric Diego was not just about to let go in front of his home crowd, and scored for the Generals to keep them at bay. AJ Coronel rebounded for the Altas, but made a sloppy throw that led to the hands of Maui Cruz, who shot a corner triple for EAC, 74-75.

However, it was not enough for the Generals. With only 12 seconds remaining, EAC was called for a foul and Kim Aurin split his free throws for 76-74.

EAC had one more chance to get the win on their home court, but Jerome Garcia was well defended that forces his triple shot badly missed as time expired.

Edgar Charcos finished with 22 points, three assists and two steals, while Eze had a double-double record of 15 points and 22 boards on top of nine blocks.

Aurin chipped in 12 markers, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Cruz, on the other hand, led the Generals with 18 points.
