The National University Lady Bulldogs earned their fifth consecutive wins in their still-perfect campaign this season after defeating the mighty University of Sto. Tomas Lady Tigresses squad, 25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 28-26 in UAAP Women’s Volleyball, Sunday, at FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan City.

Although the Lady Bulldogs still have a perfect record, they have not won their games in straight sets yet.

NU dropped the second set after allowing UST to get free points off their misreceptions. Being the number one best serving team so far in the league, the Lady Tigresses had a total of seven service aces in the match, not including the receiving errors of NU that prevented a good pass to Jaja Santiago.

After winning the third set, the Lady Bulldogs were once again haunted by their reception woes in the fourth frame. UST was able to challenge NU in a tug-of-war in the latter part of the set, highlighted by a showdown between the top two scorersJaja Santiago and Sisi Rondina.

In the end, it was the Santiago who prevailed as Rondina’s attack was blocked at the net that concluded the match in favor of the Lady Bulldogs.

Jaja Santiago led the way for NU with 19 points, while graduating Aiko Urdas also chipping in 10 markers.

Sisi Rondina tallied 25 points to continue her twenty-point output in all of her games this season.

Player of the Game: Jasmine Nabor, 32 excellent sets
