NATIONAL U STARTS SECOND ROUND WITH 3-SET SWEEP OF ADAMSON

The National University Lady Bulldogs are back on its winning streak after fending off Adamson Lady Falcons in straight sets, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19, to maintain hold of third spot, March 8, Wednesday, at the FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan.

Adamson kept the match close before NU would starttheir pull-away run to claim each set.

In fact, the Lady Falcons were ahead in the third set, 12-5, but the Lady Bulldogs found its groove to stage a comeback. Fortunately for NU, they were able to prevent collapse as they got the third set and the match, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Adamson actually led in most of the skill departments except in spikes and blocks where they only got 28 attacks and 1 block against the 26 and 3 of NU.

Jaja Santiago and Jorelle Singh had 15 and 11 points respectively for NU, with Aiko Urdas and Risa Sato combining for 9 markers.

Jema Galanza had another triple-double for the Lady Falcons, tallying 15 attacks, 12 excellent digs, and 11 excellent receptions.
