MANILA, Philippines – Lyceum of the Philippines was down by as much as 13 points, until a massive turnaround in the fourth quarter gave them an 80-69 win against San Sebastian in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

This serves as Lyceum’s second consecutive win for a 3-1 win-loss record in the league standings. While San Sebastian absorbed its first defeat in the season, giving them a 2-1 slate.

The Pirates opened the fourth quarter with six consecutive baskets, for a 58-59 score. Twin brothers Jayvee and Jaycee Marcelino later on led the squad for an 8-2 run, overturning the lead to their advantage at 66-61.

Lyceum did not hold back from there and spurred a 13-0 blast for a 74-66 comfortable advantage with only 2:37 minutes left in the game. San Sebastian did not recover from there as Enzo Navarro dropped a triple from the corner to finish the game on a high note.

“We all know coming into the game that we’re not out there to beat San Sebastian, we’re out there to play our best, no matter the circumstances in front of us,” Lyceum head coach Topex Robinson said.

Jayvee Marcelino finished with 12 points, while his brother Jaycee had 11 markers. Navarro added another 11, while Jayson David had 10 markers, and six boards for the win. Big man Mike Nzeusseu also played his first game of the season, finishing with six points and six boards.
