Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates continued their winning streak to six games, after sweeping the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas, 76-58, Friday in the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Altas thought they already followed the rhythm of the Pirates early in the start of the second half, but Lyceum turned the 35-34 deficit as CJ Perez, Reymar Caduyac and JV Marcelino boosted a 16-1 run.

The Pirates continued on until the final quarter to lead as high as 23 points, 76-53, with the Marcelino twins, Jayvee and Jaycee, making back-to-back baskets.

“Medyo tight yung mga players during the first half, so during half-time, Coach Topex Robinson reminded the team it’s not about the offense, but it’s the defense and making stops,” said Assistant Coach Jeff Perlas.

CJ Perez led the Pirates again with 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, while team captain MJ Ayaay had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Prinze Eze had a game-high double-double 21 points and 19 rebounds.

Lyceum will face EAC on Thursday, August 10 at the Generals’ home court, while Perpetual will face the Letran Knights on Friday, August 11.
