The DLSU Lady Spikers refused to have rare back-to-back losses as they swept the erstwhile unbeaten NU Lady Bulldogs, 29-27, 25-16, 25-21, Sunday, February 19 at the FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan.

Getting back from the win column after a painful straight sets loss against UP was not an easy task for La Salle as they had to do it against the also then undefeated Lady Bulldogs.

With a 27-all deadlock in the extended first set, Coach Ramil pulled off a crucial move off his pocket by calling backup setter Michelle Cobb to serve for Kim Dy—whichmeant that Kim Fajardo will play as spiker for a full frontline.

However, Fajardo did not need to do anything as Cobb took care of it, producing two great serves to seal the first set.

The Lady Spikers were able to bring their momentum in the second and third sets, capitalizing on the sluggish floor defense of the Lady Bulldogs which prevented Jasmine Nabor from setting up attacks.

This made it easier for La Salle to put up their block party led by Aduke Ogunsanya and Tin Tiamzon—the two players who replaced Mika Reyes and Ara Galang who are known to be good blockers as well—to frustrate the Lady Bulldogs that only had a single block courtesy of Jaja Santiago.

There is now a three-way tie for second place with NU, La Salle, and Ateneo having 3-1 records behind the league-leading UP that is still spotless.

Player of the Game: Aduke Ogunsanya, 11 points (5 attacks, 6 blocks)
