Coming off a tough loss in their last game against NU, the De La Salle University Lady Spikers returned to the winning column after a straight set win over the still-winless University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 in UAAP Women’s Volleyball, Wednesday, at FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan City.

The erstwhile undefeated La Salle squad dominated UE in all scoring departments, highlighted by the 44 attack points of the Lady Spikers against the 25 of the Lady Warriors.

La Salle was in control all throughout the match, except for the latter part of the third set where the Lady Spikers committed series of error that cut down their seven-point lead to just four, 21-17. But La Salle quickly shrugged off their mistakes and finished the game quickly concluded by the attack of Desiree Cheng.

Last season’s MVPs Desiree Cheng and Majoy Baron led the way for the Lady Spikers with 13 points apiece. Aduke Ogunsanya and Kim Dy also combined for 20 markers.

The duo of Mary Ann Mendrez and Shaya Adorador continued to carry the scoring load for UE, tallying 12 and 11 points, respectively.

La Salle is now with a 4-1 win-loss record, but UE has yet to win this season with a 0-4 standing.
