San Sebastian exacts revenge on EAC, ends slump

Manila, Philippines – San Sebastian College-Recoletos took a much needed win in expense of Emilio Aguinaldo College, 78-67, Friday in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

After Baste lost all its games due to RK Ilagan’s suspension, he made sure he would take those wins back for the team. His presence was enough to boost Baste back in its winning ways.

 Ilagan led San Sebastian for a 13-2 run, which gave them a 65-52 comfortable lead in the fourth salvo and never looked back.

Ilagan finished with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Michael Calisaan had 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Alvin Capobres chipped in 14 points, while Arjan Dela Cruz added 11 points, five rebounds and four dimes as Baste takes in a 2-9 win-loss record in the tournament.

On the other hand, Jerome Garcia led the Generals with 23 points.

Hamadou Laminou and JP Magulinao chipped in a double-double record of 13 points and 13 rebounds and 11 markers and 11 boards, respectively as EAC dropped to a 2-8 slate.
