San Sebastian bounces back with win over Mapua

Manila, Philippines – Though already out of the Final Four contention, the San Sebastian College-Recoletos still made their school community proud after defeating the Mapua University, 86-64, in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The Stags improved to a 5-12 record, same with Mapua, and seventh place in the team standings.

Baste slowly stretched their lead in the game and left the Cardinals with a 22-point deficit to end the match.

RK Ilagan exploded big for San Sebastian with a game-high 26 points along with six rebounds, while Michael Calisaan chipped in 16 markers and five boards.

Allyn Bulanadi and Ken Villapando added 10 points apiece in the winning effort.

On the other hand, Warren Bonifacio had a double-double record of 14 points and 15 rebounds for Mapua, but it was not enough to drive the Cardinals to victory.
