Manila, Philippines – With the playoffs moving closer, San Beda University exhibited such grace under pressure as they trampled College of St. Benilde, 77-55, Thursday in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The Red Lions claimed their eighth consecutive win in the tournament to tie themselves with Lyceum of the Philippines University at No. 1 with a 14-1 slate. This assured San Beda of at least a playoff for a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals.

San Beda easily outscored the Blazers from the get-go, 14-4, and continued the heist until the end of the first half with a 15-point advantage.

They never looked back from there as the hapless St. Benilde succumbed to a double-digit deficit all throughout the game and failed to turn it all around.

Robert Bolick paved the way for the Red Lions with 19 points, four assists and three boards, while Javee Mocon ended up with 13 markers.

Donald Tankoua finished with 13 markers as well along with 10 boards, while Calvin Oftana chipped in 10 points of his own for the win.

St. Benilde accumulated their second consecutive defeat and dropped to an 8-7 record, giving them a slimmer chance for the Final Four berth.

Clement Leutcheu was the lone double-digit pointer for them with 12 points and 13 boards.
