The Adamson University makes their way for their third win after defeating the University of the East, 79-60 on Sunday in the UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball tournament in the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Soaring Falcons now have an identical 3-2 card with the University of Fighting Maroons, who were just handed their second loss from Far Eastern University, while the Red Warriors suffered their fifth straight loss in the league.

Adamson were off to a hot 11-0 run opening the game and kept a comfortable 19-point lead ahead of UE until the final 24 ticks of the game and never looked back until the final buzzer.

“This is the first time in that we’re above .500. It’s going to be a brutal week for us, we’ll be playing three tough games with three tough teams,” said Coach Franz Pumaren.

Papi Sarr made it big for the Soaring Falcons and led the squad with a double-double record of 15 points and 16 rebounds, while Sean Manganti chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.

“Hopefully this can help us in our coming game, especially the game against UP. The last two games will be crucial on our part to end it above .500,” furthered Pumaren.

Mark Olayon, on the other hand, paced the Red Warriors with 16 points, while Alvin Pasaol added 15 markers.
