NU Bulldogs oust Adamson, seal seventh consecutive Finals appearance

The defending champions National University Bulldogs are back in the Finals to defend the crown after sweeping the Adamson University Falcons in the Final Four match-up, 25-19, 25-16, 25-20, in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament, Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Bulldogs were in championship form as they displayed dominance all throughout the matchto complete their 14-game winning streak.

NU frustrated Adamson in both offense and defense, with Kim Malabunga doing the damage in both departments with 8 attacks and 8 kill blocks out of his 17-point output. Brian Bagunas contributed 9 points, while team captain Francis Saura and rookie Nico Almendras had 7 points apiece.

Leo Miranda led Adamson with 12 points, as graduating skipper Paolo Pablico ended his career in the UAAP with 6 markers.

The defending champions will go at it in the best-of-three Finals series against the FEU Tamaraws starting on May 11, Saturday, at the Araneta Coliseum.
