Eduard Folayang’s five-match losing streak in ONE Championship MMA has been put to an end with an impressive win.
MMA Icon Folayang shut down Amir Khan with a perfectly timed left in their second meeting inside the Circle at One Fight Night 14, Saturday (Manila time) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Filipino legend finally escaped the losing column and prove his doubters wrong in a convincing third round KO victory against Khan.
Despite being flatfooted the whole night, the 39-year-old former ONE Lightweight World Champion managed to shock Khan with a left hook to send the Singaporean down cold to the canvass.
Folayang has finally gained some confidence after a five-match slump. His last win was way back in November 2019 against Tsogookhuu Amarsanaa.
Folayang improved his record to 23-13 and is not showing any signs of retiring soon.
On the other hand, Jenelyn Olsim faced the complete opposite as Jihin Radzuan submitted her in the third round of their 120.8-pound catchweight fight of ONE Friday Fights 35, at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
After a short exchange of strikes, Olsim transitioned to ground game with a takedown. The Filipina however was unsuccessful to secure a better position leading to Radzuan’s effective defense.
The Malaysian fighter gained some newfound confidence as she overpowered Olsim in the ground game. Radzuan tried various submission techniques but found no way in finishing the Filipina.
Olsim was issued a yellow card after grabbing the rope during the start of the second round.
From then on, the Shadow Cat completely dominated Olsim leading to the submission win for Radzuan.
The loss dropped Olsim to a 6-5 professional record and her second consecutive loss.
