Stephen “The Sniper” Loman will make his much-anticipated ONE debut at the fourth and final installment of ONE on TNT on April 28 after vacating his throne in BRAVE Combat Federation.
The former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion will be facing the No. 1 bantamweight contender John Lineker who currently threatens Bibiano Fernandes’ belt.
Despite being on the opposite side of ONE Championship rankings, their previous records will ensure a showdown between heavy bombers.
Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao couldn’t hide his excitement at the thought of Loman vs Lineker.
“We are talking about Loman vs Lineker. The idea alone is already hair-raising how much more if we see these warriors dancing at the ring/cage. Expect the unexpected and I, myself can’t wait,” exclaimed Sangiao.
Lineker is undefeated under ONE and the only fighter to score a knockout win against former ONE Bantamweight World Champion Kevin Belingon.
Despite being a former champion himself, Loman is still wary of “Hands of Stone” and continues loading his arsenal in search of the silver bullet that will take down the Brazilian fighter.
“Stephen’s preparation is going well and he’s galvanised and all fresh to perform in an unknown fight stage. It’s his debut fight so he has this hunger and passion to really arm himself before the big day,” said Sangiao.
With the early notice on the fight, Loman, under the supervision of Sangiao, will not have a hard time adjusting to the unique weight and hydration system of ONE Championship but instead, it may be better for “The Sniper”.
“There are adjustments of course but these are all good. ONE’s weight and hydration rules are way better than his former promotion so this is very positive. These are actually beneficial alterations,” shared Sangiao.
