CEBU CITY—Medellin and Tabuelan will face each other in the Fourth District championship round of the 2019 Governor’s Cup Under-21 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Basketball Tournament.
The championship date was sealed after Medellin pulled off an 80-77 win over Bogo City last Sunday at the Medellin Municipal Gym.
Behind the 33-point explosion of Fritz Saladaga, Medellin ended the initial round with five wins and one loss as it emerged as the top seed in the championship round.
The loss dropped Bogo to a three-way tie with Tabuelan and Madriejos at second place with identical 4-2 (win-loss) records.
Tabuelan got a huge break when it scored the highest quotient, paving the way for its entry to the title round.
Tabuelan posted a quotient of 1.05, barely edging Bogo’s 1.04.
Madridejos finished with a 0.92 quotient.
Four games will mark the start of the district championships on Wednesday, April 3, in different venues.
