Filipino Jeremy Pacatiw crumpled down to fourth-ranked opponent Fabricio Andrade of Brazil in their bantamweight showdown at ONE: FULL CIRCLE at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
True to his statement, Andrade came out faster as he countered Pacatiw’s right straight with a knee to the liver to drop the Filipino slugger cold in the ground, one minute and 37 seconds into their fight.
“I am the uncrowned king, everybody knows it,” the Wonder Boy said to Mitch Chilson after the fight.
“Anybody who trains with me knows how dangerous I am… Those guys got to be careful.”
However, before the left knee, Pacatiw was the one putting pressure on Andrade trying to set the tempo of the match and put the Brazilian on leash with varying combinations.
Andrade tried to slow down the aggression of the Igorot warrior with a right roundhouse but Pacatiw caught the former’s foot and landed a right straight to down Andrade to the ground.
Yet, Andrade was just only testing the waters, taking advantage of his freestyle stance to shut down Pacatiw with the knee.
This was Andrade’s fifth straight finish as he remains undefeated under ONE Championship banner. Meanwhile, Pacatiw dropped to 11-5.
“I want to thank that guy. That guy is a warrior. Not everyone who steps in here thinks like ‘I am coming’. Jeremy, you have my respect,” Andrade commended Pacatiw.
With the win, the Wonder Boy is inching closer to his title contention.
