Coach Eric Altamirano explains NU’s advantage over Ateneo in Final Four #UAAP77

After ending UE’s Cinderella run in their do-or-die game at the Araneta Coliseum, National University head coach Eric Altamirano was asked on his thoughts on their upcoming showdown against the twice-to-beat Ateneo Blue Eagles in the Final Four.
“Pagdating sa Final Four, wala nang advantage-advantage ‘yan,” (“When it comes to the Final Four, there are no more advantage.”) Altamirano said.
However, Coach E mentioned that their defense would be their advantage over the Blue Eagles.
“Our defense will be our advantage. Our defense brought us here (in the Final Four). We’ll have to go with that,” he said.
The NU Bulldogs has been one of the most defensive-oriented teams this season. It has been one of the main reasons why they are now in the playoffs.
They are now getting ready to face the Ateneo squad led by MVP Kiefer Ravena.
Interestingly enough, since Bo Perasol took Ateneo under his wings last season, they have never won against Coach E’s Bulldogs. But Altamirano won’t remain complacent.
“It’s a different ball game come Final Four. We just have to really be ready,” he said.
