Team Lakay newcomer Carlo Bumina-ang impressed the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium with a 52-sec KO win against Reza Saedi in his ONE Championship debut on Friday night, August 4, 2023.
The Igorot warrior left no breathing room for the Iranian fighter, immediately starting the fight with a strong strike to the inside leg. The nimble twitching of Bumina-ang caused the Jaguar to hesitate in his strikes.
Meanwhile, the stockier Bumina-ang also swarmed Saedi with leg kicks to the head and body but a left straight clipped the Jaguar’s jaw.
Bumina-ang followed the left straight with an onslaught, dropping Saedi to the ground. Saedi was able to get back up on his feet but Bumina-ang was already on fire, seizing the opportunity for a quick finish.
Bumina-ang ended the night with two more knees to the head of Saedi, forcing the referee to end the bantamweight showdown with just 52sec wasted on the clock.
“It feels so good. It’s my first time here and I’m so thankful I pulled it off. I’m so happy,” Bumina-ang ecstatically shared after the fight.
“It feels great. It took me five years to get here.”
The Team Lakay stalwart improves his professional record to 2-0 with his first win in the big stage of ONE Championship.
