SAN SEBASTIAN STOMPS ST. BENILDE FOR BACK-TO-BACK WINS

San Sebastian College finally had their first winning streak in the season after winning over the College of Saint Benilde, 101-71 on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament.
The Golden Stags is the first team to convert 54 percent of shots in the offensive end and even showed their full potential over the Blazers as Michael Calisaan led his squad in the final period with Kevin Baytan’s trey to push the lead to 36 points, 96-60.
“We got a good shooting percentage today,” said San Sebastian Coach Egay Macaraya. “St. Benilde gave us a lot of three point and we made them.
With a 10-of-27 shooting from the three point line, San Sebastian evened their slate at 3-3 in the team standings, while St. Benilde fell to 2-5 slate.
Calisaan finished with 20 points and six rebounds, while Alfren Gayosa had 15 points and six rebounds. Allyn Bulanadi added 13 points.
Meanwhile, Unique Naboa boosted the Blazers with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Edward Dixon had 15 points and seven rebounds. Clement Leutcheu had 12 points and nine rebounds.
San Sebastian Golden Stags will face Letran Knights on Tuesday, August 15, while College of St. Benilde Blazers will take on the Jose Rizal Heavy Bombers on Friday, August 18.
