The National University Lady Bulldogs got their third win in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament after turning back the Adamson University Lady Falcons in four sets, 28-26, 30-32, 25-21, 25-22, Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
After the extended first two setsthat saw Adamson and NU outlasting each other for a 1-1 tied match, the Lady Bulldogs capitalized on the reception woes of the Lady Falcons as they cruised to take the next two frames. NU tallied 15 service aces as a team in just four sets while unleashing 51 attacks.
Coach Norman Miguel adjusted NU’s rotation, putting Gen Luceno in the opposite side while utilizing the height of Ivy Lacsina who played in the middle position. It paid off as four players were in double-digits led by team skipper Roselyn Doria who registered 18 points on 12 attacks, 1 kill block, and 5 service aces.
Rookies Cess Robles and Ivy Lacsina continued to strengthen their bid for the Rookie of the Year award with 14 and 15 markers, respectively.
Bern Flora led Adamson with 16 points as they remained winless in the second round of eliminations.
