Manila, Philippines – Bong Quinto was unstoppable as he paved the way for Colegio de San Juan De Letran against Mapua University, 84-69, Friday in the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Quinto was all over the court and finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.
Down by four in the second quarter, team captain Quinto led the Knights and exploded a 26-3 run for a 45-26 lead in the second quarter.
Letran never looked back thanks to a very comfortable 15-point cushion and thumped the Cardinals until the end-game.
JP Calvo helped Quinto with his own career-high 26 points as the Knights claimed solo third in the tournament with an 8-4 win-loss record.
Meanwhile, Arvin Gamboa had 17 points, seven boards and two assists as Mapua dropped to a 4-9 slate.
