The De La Salle University Lady Spikers surpassed the National University Lady Bulldogs via a four-set victory, 25-11, 25-11, 15-25, 25-12, to continue its winning streak in the second round, March 12, Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
La Salle was able to dominate NU except for the third set where the Lady Spikers committed 10 unforced errors, compared to the first two sets where they only had 9, that caused them the set.
The Lady Spikers quickly retaliated in the fourth frame, not giving NU any form of momentum they could banked on to force a deciding fifth set, toying with the reception of the Lady Bulldogs with heavy serves.
Seniors Kim Dy and Majoy Baron led the way for La Salle with 17 and 15 points respectively, while Desiree Cheng and Kim Fajardo combined for 12 markers.
Rarely do you see Jaja Santiago only in a single-digit output, but she was held down in this match to just 9 points. Jorelle Singh was the top scorer for NU with 12 points off 9 attacks, 1 block, and 2 service aces.
Player of the Game: Majoy Baron, 15 points (8 attacks, 6 blocks, 1 service ace)
