CEBU CITY—Dumanjug and Alegria set up a championship showdown in the Seventh District after they chalked up separate wins in the 2019 Governor’s Cup Under-21 Inter-Cities and Municipalities Basketball Tournament last Friday night, March 29.
Alegria showed no mercy in crushing Moalboal, 112-55, while Dumanjug scored its own lopsided win to the tune of a 97-73 dumping of Malabuyoc.
Both Alegria and Dumanjug are unbeaten with 4-0 (win-loss) cards. The titular showdown will be played on April 5 in Alegria, Cebu.
In the Sixth District, Cordova scored another huge win when they stunned the erstwhile unbeaten Consolacion Sarok Weavers, 105-94.
It was Cordova’s second win in four games, while Consolacion fell to 2-1.
In the Fourth District, Tabuelan tallied its third win in five games by beating the former undefeated Madridejos, 99-81.
Madridejos dropped to 4-1. Madridejos’ loss created a two-way tie at the number one spot as Bogo City improved to 4-1 after pulling off a 79-76 win over San Remigio.
San Remigio tasted its fourth loss in five games.
Medellin, on the other hand, tightened its hold of the second plate following a 95-68 triumph over Tabogon.
Medellin climbed to 3-1 and pulled Tabogon down to 2-3.
