The University of the East Lady Warriors successfully avenged their first round loss after taking down the Adamson University Lady Falcons in four sets, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament, Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
UE did not waste the 28-point outing of Casiey Dongallo, who bombarded Adamson with 25 attacks, two kill blocks, and a service ace. Riza Nogales was also impressive with 17 markers, including the team-high six kill blocks.
After gaining a 2-1 lead in the match, the Lady Warriors saw themselves down in the first technical timeout.
Slowly but surely, Dongallo led UE’s comeback midway as they tied it at 13-all. From there, momentum stayed on the side of the Recto-based squad.
Dongallo single-handedly carried UE’s offense down the stretch, which ended via an attack error from Adamson.
The Lady Warriors tallied their much-needed second victory before heading into the Holy Week break, while Adamson suffered their sixth loss in eight games this season.
