CEBU CITY—Simply unstoppable.
That’s how the junior and the senior teams of the University of the Visayas (UV) are faring in the ongoing Cebu Schools Athletic Federation Inc. (CESAFI) Partner’s Cup.
The two teams remain unbeaten in the tournament with the Green Lancers drubbing the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras, 73-60, and the Baby Lancers trouncing the Baby Cobras, 95-77, last Tuesday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Green Lancers tightened their hold of the number one spot in the college division with a 5-0 (win-loss) card, while the Baby Lancers also sit comfortably atop the standings in the secondary division with a 6-0 ledger.
Lassina Coulibally powered the Green Lancers with 17 points, while Jancork Cabahug donated 14.
Red Cachuela scored 15 points, while Shaquille Imperial and Fernandez added 11 each for SWU, which suffered its first defeat in four games.
On the other hand, Maynard Bajo came up big for the Baby Lancers as he fired 18 markers, while Fritz Banzon contributed 10.
Dezeo Villanueva finished with 23 points but couldn’t save the Baby Cobras from absorbing their third loss in six starts.
Axel Pasaol also scored in twin digits for SWU with 13.
