UE LADY WARRIORS NOTCH FIRST WIN, DISPATCH STILL LISTLESS ADAMSON

The UE Lady Warriors ended its losing streak, again at the expense of Adamson, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 25-18, keeping the Lady Falcons as the only winless squad in the UAAP season 79 women’s volleyball, Sunday, March 5, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
It was a highly-anticipated match as both teams had an opportunity to barge in the win column, but it was the Lady Warriors who emerged as the victor.
The Lady Falcons were able to snatch a set—its first this season—but the Lady Warriors displayed resilience and hardwork to get their first win to end the first round on a high note.
Adamson actually had two more attacks than UE, 42-40, but UE compensated for its problem in offense with their strong blocking and serving, tallying 6 blocks and 8 service aces compared to 4 and 3 of the Lady Falcons.
Team captain Shaya Adorador delivered for UE, finishing with 23 points and 21 excellent digs. Roselle Baliton dished out 55 excellent sets thanks to Kath Arado who had 26 excellent receptions and 45 excellent digs.
Jema Galanza tallied season-high output with 18 points, but she lacked much-needed support as Joy Dacoron and Bern Flora combined for only 16 points.
Player of the Game: Shaya Adorador, 23 points (20 attacks, 2 blocks, 1 service ace)
