THIRDY RAVENA BOUNCES BACK

AFTER a poor performance against National University, Thirdy Ravena recovers and led Ateneo to their second win in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament against Far Eastern University, 76-71 on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Ateneo had a big advantage in the first half of the game, with Ravena scoring 10 that also led to a 13-point advantage.

However, the defending champions were not easily tamed. FEU pursued after Ateneo and were 66-all deadlock on the final two minutes of the fourth.

Anton Asistio then made a 3-point play and gave Ateneo a 71-66 advantage.

Ravena finished off with 17 points. Adrian Wong and Jolo Mendoza added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Mike Nieto showed off a good performance, with 9 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite a double-double record on the Tamaraws, they were not able to conquer the Blue Eagles.

Wendell Comboy scored a towering 16 points in the first half and finished off with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
