San Sebastian continues unbeaten streak, clobbers Benilde

MANILA, Philippines – San Sebastian College-Recoletos grabbed their fifth consecutive win after defeating College of St. Benilde, 83-67, on Thursday in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The Stags prove why they were still considered one of the top teams to beat. Allyn Bulanadi led the pack for a 28-20 lead in the first quarter and only stretched it to as much as a 25-point advantage in the final period, 78-53.

The Blazers could only do so much, as Baste never missed a beat and cruised to a 16-point victory as time ran out.

Bulanadi finished with a career-high 32 points to go with four rebounds, three steals, and two assists, while RK Ilagan added 13 markers, five boards, and four assists. Alvin Capobres had 12 points and six rebounds as they improved to a 7-3 slate behind Lyceum of the Philippines University. 

On the other hand, Yankie Haruna topped with 16 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort as Benilde lost four of their last five games, following a strong 5-0 start in the season.  They now dropped to a 6-4 win-loss record.
