Manila, Philippines – The San Beda University roared their way in the NCAA Season 94 senior’s basketball tournament after defeating Emilio Aguinaldo College, 61-46, Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
The Generals battled hard against the defending champions and even led in the first quarter, 14-13, but their rhythm in the game soon depleted after San Beda took charge and led by seven points in the half, 32-25.
San Beda never let go of their lead since then as the powerful trio of Donald Tankoua, Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon led the Red Lions to 17 points, at the same time, limiting EAC to only eight points in the third quarter, 49-33.
The Red Lions shed no mercy for the Generals as they led by as much as 21 points in the fourth salvo, 60-39 with only less than four minutes on the clock.
EAC tried to salvage what they can of the final output with a late rally, but to no avail, they recorded the lowest score in the NCAA Season 94 tournament so far.
Bolick led San Beda with 15 points and six assists, while Tankoua contributed well on the rebounding department with 10 rebounds along with nine points.
Rustan Bugarin had 10 points for EAC, while Hamadou Laminou chipped in nine markers as the Generals dropped to a winless slate of 0-4 record.
