TNT Tropang Giga rediscovered their shooting touch and cruised to a series-tying 95-82 win over the Barangay Ginebra Kings in Game 2 of the 47th PBA Governors’ Cup Best-of-Seven Finals on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Tropa bounced back from a 102-90 Game 1 loss last Sunday to knot the series at one game apiece.
The PLDT franchise dominated Game 2 by converting 15 of their 35 shots from the rainbow area with Calvin Oftana, Mikee Williams, RR Pogoy, Glenn Khobuntin and Jayson Castro each making at least two trifectas.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was superb for the Tropa, flirting with a triple-double show with 23 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists.
Williams fired 21 points anchored on five three-pointers, while Pogoy added 17 points.
Williams and Pogoy teamed up in a back-breaking 13-0 run in the fourth period that allowed TNT to put the game away after erecting a 95-80 lead.
Christian Standhardinger spearheaded Ginebra with 29 points and 11 rebounds.
Justine Brownlee was nowhere near his usual productive self as the resident Ginebra managed just 12 points although he had 10 boards and eight assists.
