For their third straight win this season, the National University Lady Bulldogs escaped the University of the East Lady Warriors in four sets, 25-15, 18-25, 25-23, 25-19 in UAAP women’s volleyball , Sunday, at FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan City.

Still dealing with reception issues, NU was unable to win the game in straight sets.

UE shrugged off first set loss and fought back in the second frame, with Shaya Adorador finally coming alive after a poor performance in their first two outings.

The Lady Warriors were able to sustain their momentum in the third set, threatening to close out the set with a 22-20 lead. But the Jaja Santiago-Jasmine Nabor connection came into play and stunned UE to steal the set.

Leading 2-1, the Lady Bulldogs regained control in the fourth set and eventually won the game for the 3-0 win-loss record.

Jaja Santiago powered the Lady Bulldogs with 23 points, while Roselyn Doria stepped up, contributing 12 points.

Former UE team captain Shaya Adorador and Mary Anne Mendrez teamed up for the Lady Warriors with 11 points apiece.

Player of the Game: Jaja Santiago, 23 points (18 attacks, 4 blocks, 1 service ace)
