On their maiden semifinal appearance, the Philippines saw their Cinderella run in the 2019 AFF Women’s Championship ended by Vietnam after the latter came from a goal down Sunday afternoon in Chonburi, Thailand.

A 2-1 win by the Indochinese side relegate Let Dimzon’s Malditas to the battle for third Tuesday against Myanmar after grinding out after being behind in the waning moments of the first half

Tran Thi Hong Nhu was the unfortunate one to put their back pass into their own net in the 35th minute after she cracked under immense Filipina pressure, but six minutes later Vietnam made amends in the equalizer with skipper Huynh Nhu converted on a Thi Bich Thuy feed on the counter to level the match at half-time.

Vietnam deservedly completed the comeback two minutes before the hour mark when Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung unleashed a right-footed curler to beat Inna Palacios as they held on to set up a clash with Thailand in the final on Tuesday.

Philippines: Palacios (GK), Lim, Long, Rodriguez (Lustan 82′), Dolino, Quezada, Impelido (C), Castañeda, Simarago, Lemoran (Mendaño 54′), Del Campo (Tolentin 78′)
