De la Salle University’s Mary Joy Baron was named UAAP Season 79 Women’s Volleyball Most Valuable Player.
The 5’11 middle blocker from Tarlac, along with teammates Kim Fajardo and Kianna Dy, brings the defending champions to their ninth straight finals appearance.
The awarding ceremony for the men’s and women’s individual honors is set on Saturday at the Smart – Araneta Coliseum.

Best Blocker – Jaja Santiago, NU
Best Digger – Kathleen Faith Arado, UE
Best Setter – Kim Fajardo, DLSU
Best Receiver – Dawn Nicole Macandili, DLSU
Rookie of the Year – Juliane Marie Samonte, ADMU
Most Valuable Player of the Year – Mary Joy Baron, DLSU
