Letran continued their winning streak after an all-out battle against San Sebastian, 79-75 in an overtime on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

“All credit ulit sa mga boys kasi yung character nila doon lumabas,” said Coach Jeff Napa. “Four wins is nothing, kasi our focus is to win as many games as we can.”

With 75-all in the game, Rey Nambatac was able to steal the ball from Michael Calisaan and turned the ball into two free throws for JP Calvo and put the Knights at a two-point lead, 77-75 with 1:20 left.

It was Jerrick Balanza’s free throws following an inbound pass by RK Ilagan to Jayson David that led to the Knights’ victory.

Nambatac had a double-double record of 23 points and 14 rebounds while Calvo added 12 points and eight assists. Jeo Ambohot chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds before his right wrist injury in the third quarter following a bad fall in the game.

San Sebastian Calisaan had 18 points.

The Letran Knights climbed up the team standings with a 5-3 slate, while San Sebastian dropped to a 3-4 record.

Letran will take on the Lyceum Pirates on Friday, August 18, while San Sebastian will face the EAC Generals on the same day to hopefully nab a win.
