“I AM HAPPY THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GIVE HER THE EXIT THAT SHE DESERVES“ -Kim Dy on graduating Kim Fajardo

After regaining the championship last Season 78 against Ateneo and with the graduation of Ara Galang, Mika Reyes, and Cyd Demecillo, all eyes were on Kim Fajardo who was uncertain whether she would still return to La Salle for one last season.
Many people made the hashtag #KAFOneMoreYear trend on social media, asking the team captain to use her final year of eligibility in the UAAP. One of these people was her own teammate Kim Dy who exerted a lot of effort, even composing a song for Fajardo in the tune if “Tatlong Bibe” then sang it in national television in one of their guesting.
Finally, after months of keeping mum about it, all the efforts paid off as Fajardo announced that she would return and help the team defend the crown.
Fast forward to Season 79, La Salle won back-to-back championship bagging their 10th title in the UAAP—a perfect send-off for the graduating playmaker.
Of course, last year’s Finals MVP Kim Dy looked extra motivated in the Finals, and she admitted that her main inspiration was Kim Fajardo.
“Syempre, personally she was my main inspiration for today’s game. I am happy that we were able to give her the exit that she deserves.” Dy said.
But for Fajardo, she wanted her teammates to play for themselves as well.
“Nung una ayoko nang ganun kasi gusto ko, sila maglaro [para sa sarili nila], syempre para sa akin gusto ko sila rin magkaroon ng pangalan for them.”
“Pero sinasabi ko sa sarili ko kung makakalaro sila nang maayos tapos dine-dedicate nila sa akin iyon, why not, kung ayun yung mas makakapaglaro sa kanila nang maayos.” she added.
It was indeed the exit that Kim Fajardo deserves, winning three championships during her UAAP career on top of a Best Server plum and three Best Setter awards.
