The Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws successfully withstood another five-setter match, this time against the Adamson University Lady Falcons, 25-18, 17-25, 25-14, 22-25, 15-8, in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament, Sunday, at the FilOil Flying-V Arena in San Juan.

It was a roller-coaster ride for FEU as they alternately won sets over Adamson to extend the match in a deciding frame.

Luckily for the Lady Tamaraws, after losing the fourth set, they regained the momentum right away as they built a crucial 8-3 start. Adamson scored three consecutive points to cut down the lead to two, but after a timeout by Coach George Pascua, FEU responded with a 7-2 run to close out the match.

Senior Heather Guino-o tallied a 20-point outing on 17 attacks and 3 service aces, while at the same time dishing out 13 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions. Buding Duremdes lorded it over in the defensive side as she impressively recorded 44 excellent digs out of 55 attempts.

Eli Soyud and Joy Dacoron led Adamson with 14 and 13 points, respectively, in a losing effort against FEU.

The Lady Tamaraws boast a 4-2 record and are tied with UST and their next opponent, La Salle.
