The defending champions DLSU Green Archers came back to their senses and forces a do-or-die game after dominating the FEU Tamaraws in a 94-73 win at the MOA Arena.
The Green Archers were on attack mode since the opening tip giving them an early lead making it hard for the Tamaraws to recover.
DLSU was on fire from three-point territory making 40% of their shots from behind the arc. Julian Sargent, Almond Vosotros, and Jeron Teng, being the usual suspects, combined for a total of 8 three-pointers which gave DLSU a huge morale boost against FEU who shot only a total of 27% of their shots from three.
FEU, though, made some scoring runs to keep them in the game but DLSU came out prepared limiting FEU’s shooters and forced bad shots and turnovers.
DLSU has also outrebounded the Tamaraws 54-41 limiting FEU’s chances for multiple possesions and transition baskets.
Coming from a bad performance in their last game, Jeron Teng found back his rhythm and led DLSU with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Big man Norbert Torres was in attack mode with 18 points, while hot-shooting Almond Vosotros added with 17.
Mac Belo was on fire with an outstanding performance scoring a career-high 32 points in a losing fashion. Meanwhile, Mike Tolomia found himself struggling with 7 points in 2/14 shooting.
This is the first time DLSU has defeated FEU this season.
The two teams will go head-to-head on Wednesday in a do-or-die match for a chance to earn a spot in this year’s Finals.
